Inventory Miscellaneous

Your Fixers are found in the 'Miscellaneous' tab of your inventory, along with other Special Items needed to play certain pictures; Anomaly Dispelling and Summoning Items; and parts of the Fortune Pearl Talisman

Fixers are required to combine Collections and Artifacts in the Seeker's Notes: Mysteries of Darkwood game.

Once you have collected all 5 items belonging to a Collection (or all 5 Collections belonging to an Artifact), you can combine the Collection/Artifact in the Collections Window to receive your rewards.

In order to combine any Collection/Artifact you will need a set amount of (up to) 4 different types of Fixers. There are a number of ways to get Fixers in the game. Some Fixers are rewarded to players for winning Hidden Object Location games. Some Fixers are won by Trading with Townspeople or Banishing Monsters. Some Fixers may need to be Crafted. Fixers may also be found inside some Chests (such as the 'Apprentice's Box' Chest). Some Fixers can be gifted to your Friends as Free Gifts that do not come out of your inventory, while many others can only be Gifted as Inventory gifts that do come out of your Inventory.

The Fixers in the game can be split into two groups: Artifact Fixers that are required to combine Artifacts and Collection Fixers that are required to combing Collections.

Some Fixers may have duel purposes - they can be used both to combine Collections and also to Craft other items in the game.

NOTE: Please see the List of Fixers for a list of all currently available fixers in the game.

Finding FixersEdit

There are a number of different things you must do in the Seeker's Notes: Mysteries of Darkwood game in order to collect the Fixers needed to combine Collections. Some Fixers can be very easy to collect, while others can be more difficult. Typically easy Fixers are required to combine low level Collections with smaller rewards for combining, while harder Fixers are required for higher level Collections with bigger rewards for combining:

  • 3 of the Collection Fixers (Thread; Clip and Colored Ribbon) may be rewarded for winning some Hidden Object Locations. Once you successfully win a Hidden Object game, the rewards window that appears at the end of the game will show you what you have won. The items you win are randomly generated from the items available to win. Using luck Talismans or Artifacts or hiring Ranger Friends will increase the number of items you win for each Hidden Object game. As will playing a Location that has been charged by a Visiting Ranger. This will increase your odds of getting the Fixers you require. Each Fixer can only be won in certain Locations. In order to find a particular Fixer, use the 'can be found' list in the research window of a picture or puzzle to see if it is available to win. Some Fixers may only be won for once you have advanced that Locations' Rank to a certain advanced Rank.
  • 8 of the Collection Fixers (Tar; Resin; Hairpin; Petal; Scale; Fang; Fluff; and Dragonfly) can be won by banishing Monsters
  • 7 of the Collection Fixers (Thread; Clip; Colored Ribbon; Safety Pin; Clothespin; Dragonfly; Cotton) can be won by Trading with Townspeople
  • 1 of the Collection Fixers (Glue) is not longer used in the game
  • All 4 Artifact Fixers (Chain; Silk ribbon; Lace Ribbon and Cobweb) can be won by interacting (either playing or Dispelling) with Anomalies in any Hidden Object Location
  • All 4 Artifact Fixers (Chain; Silk ribbon; Lace Ribbon and Cobweb) can be won by combining Collections.
  • One of the Artifact Fixers (Cobweb) can be Crafted by the Fortune Teller.
  • All the Fixers (Collection and Artifact) can be won from the 'Defender' and 'The Ends Justify the Means' Trophies

You can access the Fixer in the Miscellaneous tab of the Store or in the Miscellaneous tab of your Inventory (if you have any of that Fixer in your Inventory) and tapping on their icon in either Miscellaneous tab will bring up an information box for that Fixer, which will tell you how to obtain it.

Alternatively, you can also access this information by pressing the icon for any Fixer in the Collections and Artifacts tab within the Collections Window. Tap on any box of Fixers for any Collection/Artifact to bring up a bigger window explaining how many of each of those Fixers are needed to combine that Collection/Artifact. Tapping on any Fixer in this bigger window will also bring up the information box for that Fixer that explains how to obtain it. This may be the quickest way to access this information if you are already in the Collections tab trying to combine a Collection.

Fixer LocationsEdit

Below is a list of Fixers in the game and the Locations they can be found in. Note the Special Items required to play certain Locations (i.e. Gold Thread; Lanterns; and Theater Tickets) are included in the list because they can also be sent as Free Gifts just like a some Fixers, and also appear in the Miscellaneous tab of a player's Inventory.

Note 2: Although Glue is classified as a Fixer in the game, it is not currently used to combine any Collections or Artifacts. It is, however, used to Craft a number of important items in the game that are needed to obtain other Fixers.

Buying FixersEdit

Some Fixers are available to buy in the Store for Rubies. You may buy them from the Store Window by pressing the Store icon on your Darkwood Town Map, selecting the 'Miscellaneous' tab and then pressing 'Buy' under the symbol of the Fixer you wish to buy. Some Fixers are sold in sets of 1 or 10, with discounts being offered for buying more at one time.

Collections buying Fixers

Tapping on the Fixers next to any Collection will bring up a detailed information box about the Fixers required to combine that Collection. Here you can add Fixers to your Wish List and buy them from the Store (using Rubies).

It is also possible to buy Fixers directly from the Collections Window of the game. You may buy all Fixers in the Collections Window, not just the ones listed in the Miscellaneous tab of the Shore. To buy a Fixer from the Collections Window, open it by pressing the Collections icon on your Darkwood Town Map.

In the Collections tab, scroll to any Collection that requires the Fixer you need to buy. Above the 'Combine' button (which is green if you have all Collection items and Fixers required; brown if you have all the Collection Items but are missing any Fixers; or grey if you are missing a Collection item) there is a box that contains 4 slots for Fixers. Pressing this box will bring up a larger version of it. In this box you can see the price of each Fixer required for that collection, and beneath the picture of the element will be 'Buy' button. Pressing the 'Buy' button will buy one of that element.

In the Artifacts tab, scroll to any Artifact that requires the Fixer you need to buy. Above the 'Combine' button  (which is green if you have all Collections and Fixers required; brown if you have all the Collection required but are missing any Fixers; or grey if you are missing a completed Collection) there is a box that contains 4 slots for Artifact Fixers. Pressing this box will bring up a larger version of it. In this box you can see the price of each Artifact Fixer required for that Artifact, and beneath the picture of the element will be 'Buy' button. Pressing the 'Buy' button will buy one of that element.

Note: You cannot currently buy the Dragonfly Fixer or the Glue Fixer in either the Store or in the Collections tab.

Using FixersEdit

Fixers are stored in the Miscellaneous tab of the Inventory, but you use them directly from the Collections and Artifacts tabs of the Collections Window (or directly in the Fortune Teller in the Case of the Glue Fixer).

Collections can combine cant combine

For the Detective's Kit Collection (bottom): The player has at least one of each Collection item and all of the required Fixers, so can combine the Collection. The 'Combine' button is green. For the Traditions of the Celestial Empire Collection (top): The player is missing some of the Collection items and so cannot combine the Collection. The 'Combine' button is grey. The player does have some of the required Fixers for that Collection, so they have a green banner underneath them (Dragonfly, Fluff) but does not have enough of the 3rd Fixer (Fang), so it has a brown banner underneath it. If the player found the remaining Collection items, the 'Combine' button would turn from grey to brown until they found the remaining Fixers, at which point it would turn green and they could combine the Collection.

To view the Fixers in your Inventory, open your Inventory by using the Inventory icon on your Darkwood Town Map. Go to the 'Miscellaneous' tab (6th tab along the top). Note: you cannot use Fixers from your Inventory, only view how many of each you have and access the information about where to find them.

To use Fixers to combine Collections you must open the Collections tab. Find the Collection you wish to combine. If you have all of the items needed for that Collection, and the right amount of each Fixer needed to combine the collection, the 'Combine' button on the right hand side of that Collection will be green. Pressing the green combine button will use 1 of each of the items needed for that Collection and the amount of Fixers listed to combine the Collection. The Fixers (and 1 of each of the items needed for that Collection) will automatically leave your Inventory. If the 'Combine' button is brown, then you have all the required Collection items but are missing at least one Fixer. If the 'Combine' button is grey, then you are missing at least one Collection item.

To use Fixers to combine Artifacts you must open the Artifacts tab. Find the Artifact you

wish to combine. If you have all of the previously combined Collections needed to create that Artifact, and the right amount of each Fixer needed to combine the Artifact, the 'combine' button on the right hand side of that Artifact will be green. Pressing the green combine button will use 1 of each of the previously combined Collections needed for that Artifact and the amount of Fixers listed to combine the Artifact. The Fixers (and 1 of each of the Collections needed for that Artifact) will automatically leave your Inventory. If the 'Combine' button is brown, then you have all the required Collections but are missing at least one Fixer. If the 'Combine' button is grey, then you are missing at least one Collection needed to create the Artifact.

Gifting FixersEdit

Adding Fixers to your Own Wish ListEdit

You can add nearly every Fixer (except for the Glue) to your Wish List so that your Friends can gift them to you.

Collections missing Fixers

The player is missing one Hairpin Fixer (has 4 of the required 5) needed to combine the Precious Crystals Collection. They cannot combine the Collection without the remaining Fixers, so the 'Combine' button is Brown. Tapping on the Fixers will bring up a bigger information box for them, where you can add them to your Wish List.

You add Fixers to your Wish List using the Collections Window.

To add Collection Fixers to your Wish List go to the Collections tab in the Collections Window. Scroll through the Collections until you find one that uses the Fixer you want as a combining element. There is a box next to each Collection that lists all the Fixers needed to combine that Collection. Tapping on this box will bring up a larger version.

Next to the image of each Fixer in this larger version will be a symbol that looks like a checklist with a green plus sign - tapping on this symbol will add the Fixer to your Wish List.

If a Fixer is already on your Wish List, the symbol will look like a checklist with a red 'X' - tapping on this symbol will remove the Fixer from your Wish List (you can also remove items directly from the Wish List itself at top of the Collections Window).

Collections wishlist fixers

Add Fixers to your Wish List using the Green plus sign next to the image of the Fixer.

To add Artifact Fixers to your Wish List go to the Artifacts tab in the Collections Window. Every Artifact uses the same 4  Artifact Fixers, so you can use any of the them to add an Artifact Fixer to your Wish List. There is a box next to each Artifact that lists all the Fixers needed to combine that Artifact.

Inventory Gift FixersEdit

The majority of Fixers come out of your Inventory when you gift  them to your Friends. You can only send these Fixers from your Friends Wish Lists. If your Friend does not have these items on their Wish List, you will not be able to send them as a gift as they do not appear in either the Send tab or the Collection tab of the Gifting Window.

Gifting Friends wishes tab labelled

If a Fixer has a number next to it in the 'Friends' Wishes' tab or has no number next to it but the Send button is grey, then the Fixer will come out of your Inventory when sent to Friends. If the Fixer does not have a number next to it in the 'Friends' Wishes' tab and the Send button is Green, then the Fixer can be sent as a Free Gift. If in doubt, go to the 'Send' tab - all the Free Gift Fixers are listed here, so if a Fixer is not on that list then it will come out of your Inventory when sent to Friends.

To send a Fixer from your Inventory to a Friend, tap on the Friends Icon on your Darkwood Town Map. This will bring up the 3 Friends Windows options. Tap on the Gift icon to open the Gifting Window. Go to the 'Friends' wishes' tab of the Gifting Window, and scroll through your Friends Wish List items until you see the entry for the Fixer you want to send to that Friend (the Friends names are at the top of each box) (the Friend must have the Fixer on their Wish List for this box to appear). Beneath the image of the Fixer you will see the number of that Fixer you have in your Inventory. Tapping 'Send' beneath the Fixer will send that Fixer to that Friend and reduce the number in your Inventory by 1.

If there is no number next to the Fixer, and the 'Send' button is grey, then that Fixer does come out of your Inventory but you do not currently have any of that Fixer in your Inventory so cannot send it to Friends.

If there is no number next to the Fixer, and the 'Send' button is green, that that Fixer is a Free Gift Fixer, that does not come out of your Inventory when sent (the number you currently have in your Inventory is not displayed simply because it doesn't matter).

if in doubt, go to the 'Send' tab, as all Free Gift Fixers are listed in that tab. If the Fixer does not appear in the 'Send' tab of the Gifting Window, then it is an Inventory Fixer and will always come out of your Inventory when you send it to Friends.

Fixers sent as Inventory Gifts count towards your daily limit of 10 Inventory gifts. You may only send 10 gifts from your Inventory in a single day. This 10 limit includes Fixers sent from your Inventory as well as Collection Items, which are also sent from your Inventory. You can distribute these 10 gifts any way you want across your Friends (e.g. 1 gift each to 10 different Friends or 10 gifts to 1 single Friend or any variation in between). If you send 10 Inventory Gift Fixers to your Friends in one day, you will not be able to send any Collection items to Friends that day since you will have exhausted your 10 limit for Inventory gifts.

Free Gift FixersEdit

Some Fixers can be given to your friends as as Free gifts. The 3 Collection Fixers that count as 'free gifts' are the Thread; Clip; and Colored Ribbon. The 4 Artifact Fixers can also be sent as Free Gifts. All 7 Fixers that can be sent as Free Gifts have one thing in common - they can be obtained by winning Hidden Object games. This makes them the easiest of all Fixers to obtain in the game, which is why they are included as Free Gifts that do not come out your Inventory (since they have relatively low value in the game due to the ease of obtaining them).

Gifting Send tab

Some Fixers qualify as Free Gifts that do not come out of your Inventory. You can send Free Gifts either directly from your Friend's Wish List or else from the 'Send' tab of the Gifting Window. You need to reach certain Game Levels before you can send some Free Gifts, but do have the option to unlock them earlier by paying with Rubies.

Any of these 7 Free Gift Fixers that you give to your friends, either by selecting the Fixer from their Wish List in the 'Friends' Wishes' tab or by selecting the Fixer in the 'Send' tab, will not come out of your Inventory.

To send a Free Gift Fixer that is on a Friends Wish List, go to the 'Friends' Wishes' tab in the Gifting Window. Scroll through your Friends Wish List items until you see the entry for the Fixer you want to send to that Friend (the Friends names are at the top of each box) (the Friend must have the Fixer on their Wish List for this box to appear in this tab). Beneath the image of the Fixer there will not be a number, indicating that this item will not come out of your Inventory when you send it (it does not show you how many of that Fixer you have in your Inventory in any tab of the Gifting Window since these Fixers do not come out of your Inventory when you send them). Tapping the green  'Send' button beneath the Fixer will send that Fixer to that Friend. If the 'Send' button is grey, then you are not currently at a high enough game level to send that item yet.

To send a Free Gift Fixer to a Friend, when they do not have it on their Wish List, go to the 'Send' tab of the Gifting Window. The 'Send' tab shows all the items in the game that can be sent as Free Gifts to your Friends. Currently you can send a limited number of Fixers and Crafting Items as Free gifts, as well as the Special Items needed to play certain Locations. When you start a new game, you will only be able to send the Thread as a Free Gift. As you increase your Game Level, you will unlock more and more Free Gifts that you can send to your Friends. If a Free Gift is locked it will have a red banner across it stating what level you need to be to unlock it, and beneath this will be an option to unlock it immediately for Rubies. If a Free Gift is unlocked, it will have a green 'Send' button underneath it. Pressing Send will bring you to the selection window, where you can select which Friends to send that item to. Tapping on a Friends entry will select them (a green check mark will appear in the box). Tapping a second time will de-select that Friend. You can send the item to all your Friends at once, or just to one Friend using this Select Window. Pressing 'Send' at the bottom of the Seclect Friends Window will send the item to all selected Friends.

You are restricted to sending one free gift to each friend each day, up to a maximum of 50 friends. This means you are restricted to sending one Free Gift Fixer to each friend each day, up to a maximum of 50 friends. You may not send the 7 Free Gift Fixers to Friends outside of the Free Gift system, even if you have hundreds of that element in your Inventory. If you have already sent a Free Gift to a particular Friend that day (through their Wish List or the Send tab), they will not appear in the Select Windows when you try to send other Free Gifts until the Gifting day has reset. If you try to send another Free Gift to that Friend from their Wish List in the 'Friends' Wishes' tab, a notification will appear explaining that you have already reached your limit of one Free Gift to that Friend that day.
