Hi 5sides! I noticed today you are missing from my FL. I had trouble updating and couldn’t visit after wedding. I would have noticed sooner but I caught a cold which turned into pneumonia and am in hospital hope to be home soon. WiFi is limited here because I mostly have to use my phone data and I’m off my network so they limit me. I hope you will add me back (zero) O5VHDU but understand if you can’t. My list is acting up got 2 new friends I didn’t add. Thank you for all gifts you sent and I will send my appreciation in kind when I get a chance. Have a great day🤗❤️🤗Grace
Making changes. Best wishes to All. J6 let’s see how this goes. I decided tonight after seeing this that I’m sick of some of the 💩
I’m switching free time with another game so will have less time for SN. Those who remain I will help. I am accepting no further players.
I’m glad you are not leaving us completely. I’m not sure what is going on with all the negativity lately. (I have some suspicions because of the writing style.) I would miss your keen analytical mind and insight.
Now I understand why your were there when I was visiting and then gone when I went to do my gifting. THank you so much for your generosity in the game and insights here in the wiki and I wish you joy in your other pursuits!
Lisa, I don’t know what you see/saw. I am not amused that yet another a Wiki user account is masquerading. Do you think “theHARE” username was funny? Because I did not. Since I don’t know which game friend is a part of it I deleted all but one Wiki player. I can help “randoms” and bots rather than mean-spirited a wipes.
Noooo!!!! I noticed you were missing last night! I will miss you on my friends list and posting on this forum. This game has been a pleasant idyll in a rough year for me and the forum and your posts and help have been the highlights of many difficult days. Thank You and best of luck with your upcoming adventures. Opal

My comment on the event clock was based on a mistake, so please skip it.
5sides, I do not know about any bunnies, so I did not understand your screenshot. I did not notice "theHARE" or thought nothing of it, so google helps. I try to approach, maybe you mean that?
My name is bunny and I know nothing. (German idiom) Cute bunny. The hare runs fast, And still loses against the turtle or the hedgehog. Maybe she wants carrots? Hare Krishna. Harmless rabbits. Hare Krsna - the virus. Mean-spirited bunnies.
Yes, this FU was well masked and constantly changed its IP address. You can lock yourself up or become a turtle, but how do you know that not one of your remaining friends, even if assigned by MyT, falls into this category?
No problem that you've deleted me, even if I'm not part of this circle, but do not you think it's an exaggeration that, as you say, you've deleted all but one wiki friend from your FL in response to some posts in this thread? Unless ... Did you get any gifts from theHARE or was there a another connection between your game and theHARE? Actually I don't think so. But such a "friend" could be scary and would also give me a lot of questions whether and who of my friends might be one of those file hackers. But if it was not like that ... Like me, you will do what feels right to you, but my goodness, what a radical reaction! I'm sorry for you, sounds like a sad game for you now.
It is also up to us how much power we give to someone. The sum of my posts is this: I do not intend to make this thing anything bigger than it is and let me be influenced by any FU in any way.
I really hope the fun at SN and Wiki friends returns to you after a little distance. Thank you for your friendship, It was nice and I appreciated your inputs to the wiki. I wish you all the best.
Madlen, what a clever and sweet poem. Well except for those last two lines.... We have not been game friends long as best I know but I am touched at your kindness and concern for my game. You were a great game friend and by "shutting down" I meant no hurt to you or others. I don't feel like I am giving up any power but do feel so much better taking a step back from the Wiki for a variety of reasons. Too many Lon Chaney's in the house (antagonists feel free to start new accounts as Lon, Lonnie, LonC, etc...). I have very few current game friends left but will keep a closer watch on them. Thank you for the advice and words of wisdom. Perhaps you have experienced concerns yourself? Please don't minimize the words of FU. Whenever anyone reminds players that Time Travel is putting their devices in a vulnerable state there are those who pop up and have to squelch the voices of common sense. If you believe Time Travel only opens up vulnerabilities to your SN game that is your choice. I prefer to keep both feet grounded even if I don't like not being able to "jump"...like the HARE. See I made a funny, too. "TheHare can run fast. TheHare is in sync with others. TheHare may be "Heather". Go Hare, go make fun. What if theHare is Lon C? Not a problem, Hare. Not a problem, here. Enjoy the game and race. Turtles say goodbye." A haiku for viewers.
Familiarity with this specific theorem is irrelevant since you do indeed relate to Group Theory and the accompanying icing on the cake aka Group Conspiracy 😜. I just felt like asking after I read your post on a thread that discusses CIs that drop from visiting friends.
on a different note, I am experiencing a dilemma regarding gifting CIs. I also do not like to gift CIs if the player has not reached the level required to unlock the relevant room. Do you feel comfortable gifting CIs to players who have unlocked all the rooms but repeatedly wishlist CIs that are not available for drop due to low room ranking? How do you handle communal wish lists?
I am also curious about the good old days during which I was not around - did rare CIs a la bloody Model town, Tea Set, Traditions of Celestial Empire, Academic Treasure, etc..used to drop frequently in your old game?
I probably don’t pay close enough attention to the room level only to note on the old games that the coin collection is more difficult to get even if the room is at the proper level. If players are putting items on thei WLs I try to give them the benefit of doubt of needing them (usually for tools or energy). If I see constant sequential items as in they wants the items rather than to play the quests I give pause. That is truly the hare and tortoise scenario. If one player seeks the same set pieces constantly and I have given them repeatedly I may end up deleting this player in hopes to move on to a beginner instead. It’s not that I don’t think this player needs the piece but that (as I mentioned before) I don’t like waste. I don’t play the rooms throwing eyeglasses and bombs Willy nilly to get the event fixers.
I see players I help much higher on the leader board and hope they are simply playing a lot more than I can. It would be easy for me to waste a hundred purple bombs or eyeglasses to play rooms quicker to move up higher...but I find no fun in that nor satisfaction. That is not to say a bomb fit out of frustration is to be frowned upon. Virtual tantrums do no harm within ones own game. Chuckle.
Good old days...yes. All those items drop regularly and with the right talismans drop in bulk.
I deal mostly with sequential WLs and repeat requests. Some may just choose to WL the collection that yields the best value, and most do not play rooms that will drop CIs that they want/need. Some players are indeed heavy tool users.
I also do not like to use tools as a means of finishing a room. A single eyeglass to pinpoint an unfamiliar object will go a long way so that I will no longer have to use tools for the same room. I think it would take longer for me to bomb my way out of playing rooms due to slow response time. 😄 I would have to wait for the bombed objects to fly off before I set off another bomb, and I like my tools too much to actually use them. 😄
I try to help out but sequential WLs and communal ones have the potential to completely drain my inventory. I do pay close attention to room rankings when I visit and compare with wishlisting habits to ascertain whether someone is making an effort to find one's own CIs or simply expecting others to provide for them as this method works amongst wiki players who gift and regift.
unfortunately, for some strange reason, I have several friends who unwittingly do the hare/tortoise scenario.
The hares don’t last long on my FL. I have read certain CIs are difficult for some to win and this may be what you see reflected. If a player gets too frustrated with a room they may abandon trying. This is why I cannot emphasize enough that players need not rush but must move the scroll wheel to show a CI, a room pass, or one of the fixers closer to where the sets begin. It WILL end up in dif results and more CI variety. They also must try dispelling after moving the window position at times. Dispelling the sphere vs the Gargoyle given all other factors being the same (the room charge and their profession namely) will also produce a dif CI. I recommend players study CBA mode first as it is the easiest to see consistent results.
In the absence of a player wanting “to figure it out” more I get that some just want to relax and not think about it. They will play a room over and over and end up with many like and unwanted pieces. Hence the WL comes into play again. And the WL is just that. Some wishes get fulfilled others do not. I can’t speak to those who WL on behalf of others or for “a team” as I am an individual and play as such. I can’t control others and I choose not to judge that action. I also don’t have to gift if I don’t feel inclined or dont have time or don’t have extras of the particular CIs or haven’t been on my old game to transfer stuff or feel I already gave them several of that item or am running a talisman.
I feel blessed with my game and have it set up as I like and play as I like (all of this post Shaft release circa 2016). I am mindful it can all go poof or Mytona can go belly up. So while I am in “a good place” I can help as best I can and try not to overthink the behavior of others (did that a long time ago and it led me to this point - often I was wrong because I didn’t understand why they were doing something or how). In your case your device is flakey. I’m assuming you have contingency plans (via backup) for any chitstorm that might hit in terms of crashing (due to memory, bugs, lack of Kindle programming, etc...). So as far as your FL goes gift what makes you comfortable and ignore the odd stuff or possible “I don’t want to learn to fish for myself” WLs. They will change if they get no results. And you will feel more at ease if you are reserving your supplies for those truly in need not in greed.
Thankie for the advice. Certain CIs within a particular collection can indeed be difficult for a player to win- there are rather mythical collections 😏 that exist in the game and perhaps a peculiarly mythical CI within an otherwise obtainable collection.
If a player attempts to find CIs without adjusting the scroll window/experimenting with different hires, the drop rate of CIs within one collection may favor particular CIs over others and over time, one may create a massive hole in a particular collection. The peculiarly missing CI may vary amongst different players (perhaps to encourage players to interact with one another via wishlisting/gifting?) but an extremely skewed ratio within a collection may be difficult to correct if one combines the collection right away.
I can understand why some may have to wishlist the same CI repeatedly or wait until a desirable quantity of copies have been gifted. The aforementioned scenario is drastically different from sequentially wishlisting CIs within a collection repeatedly especially if the collection comes from a room that has not been explored.
Have you ever tried to intentionally create a massive hole in a collection and see if the probability of obtaining that mythical CI decreases? 😄
I tend to give away my broken collections and start with a clean slate so that I can recreate this scenario.
Conversely, one could start with an extremely even ratio of CIs in nontrivial quantities to see if there still exists that one mythical, ever -elusive CI.
I suppose it would be easier (but time-consuming) for you to experiment as you have two accounts to play with and can transfer CIs to create necessary initial conditions. 😉
“...Certain CIs within a particular collection can indeed be difficult for a player to win-“
I agree and have seen this in my own game.
“If a player attempts to find CIs without adjusting the scroll window/experimenting with different hires, the drop rate of CIs within one collection may favor particular CIs over others and over time, one may create a massive hole in a particular collection. The peculiarly missing CI may vary amongst different players (perhaps to encourage players to interact with one another via wishlisting/gifting?)...”
Agree wholeheartedly! They favor one piece especially if the charge is repeated on the room and the player repeats play “Cracked Mirror, Dispel, CBA, Cracked Mirror, Dispel,CBA...” all while room has same charge or no charge and the possible win window is left at “ground zero”.
“Have you ever tried to intentionally create a massive hole in a collection and see if the probability of obtaining that mythical CI decreases? 😄”
Never! As my OCD likes “eveness”! I tend not to meander through the inventory collections tab very often less I be faced with the missing red scarf, the missing electric bug, etc... I don’t want to “feel” the gaps and see the markedly skewed items.LOL. They are out of my control and “random” as Dystopian states.
“Conversely, one could start with an extremely even ratio of CIs in nontrivial quantities to see if there still exists that one mythical, ever -elusive CI.”
I have even sets and the only time things get too skewed is if I don’t get morph mode in a room for awhile or don’t vary my anomalies. There are a few exceptions where one piece seems more difficult to snag but usually if I wait a day or so that piece comes and another might not.
“I suppose it would be easier (but time-consuming) for you to experiment as you have two accounts to play with and can transfer CIs to create necessary initial conditions. 😉”
Not a supposition. My main game is even Steven where I have control. It also allows me to see quickly “disappearing CIs”. I am not certain how it occurs but a player here and there “double dips”. I gift a piece and they accept it twice. Or they take a piece/fixer/key and “convert” it to what they want. Goes hand in hand with that thread where some anon FU poster claims to be teaching players how to alter code and unencyrpt the pref file to add rubies or gift themselves.
I must appear to be quite demonic to some of my friends 😂 if they think the double TYs were a result of demonic hacker trickery from my end.
I have logged in to accept my free gifts/TYs before but have seen that my inbox had been "refilled" immediately afterwards. I had emailed MT when I was a newbie because I had received fluff from the same friend twice...MT explained that the issue may have to do with "stability of internet connection " either from my end or my friend's end.
Now that I do tt gift, the glitch will generate more than just two fluffs. It is interesting to see what type of fixers get generated from accepting the same TYs twice. (I usually see a swinging pattern).
I rarely wishlist CIs so I have not had the chance to rejoice the opportunity to double dip.
On a different note, I thought you knew what e.g. Torabear was doing. I doubt that hacking was involved. Sigh.
By the way, the summoning/dispelling style of playing is neither feasible nor sustainable for players who do not tt (no milking of trophies) and have started the game after the good old days were over. I have enough issues already in my game because anomalies occur more frequently than the rate at which monsters will yield dispeller chests. It is not easy to obtain a substantial quantity of banishing weapons if one plays with limited energy and milks trophies twice a day (max). Most collections that yield banishing weapons are not worth combining since the reagents required to craft premium fixers far exceed the award given by the collection.
I think this may be one of the reasons why some players eternally wish list premium fixers since net gain from combining such collections are only possible if premium fixers= free fixers.
For those who actually do their own crafting and play the game without tting, the aforementioned playing style would cause serious losses.
The issue of sticky charges and the increasing frequency of repeat modes may further affect a player 's ability to obtain varying CIs and therefore limit supplies available to play the game in a self -sufficient manner, especially if the player regularly needs tools to complete puzzles and locations.
I have noticed something strange going on when it comes to sticky charges. The first time I used the magisterium, I mysteriously and simultaneously lost charges left on my crafting stations after one hour and x minutes.
I noticed the same scenario repeating when I was able to run my second magisterium during a different update - charges disappeared after the magisterium had been active for a little longer than one hour and x minutes.
I was able to "restore" the charges by playing a location /puzzle and repeated the procedure as necessary for the painful duration of two hours.
Players who do not tt and have started the game recently will experience perpetual thorny issues that may seem strange from the perspective of old timers and those who had been tting for long.
“I must appear to be quite demonic to some of my friends 😂 if they think the double TYs....
I rarely wishlist CIs so I have not had the chance to rejoice the opportunity to double dip. “
Double TYs are your end is your business. But if you accept CI gifts and two come out of the gifter’s inventory...shame on you. Not very cool nor “friendly”. Or worse...you take a gift now and then “save it” and collect again later. It’s a thing...likely Windows players who manipulate files. I don’t care if they are adjusting their game...I do care if they screw with mine as a result. I’ve deleted players engaged in this and the problem magically goes away.
“On a different note, I thought you knew what e.g. Torabear was doing. I doubt that hacking was involved. Sigh.”
I don’t know Torabear or what he/she does. I thought that was the player who is a “team? If you are referring to that other thread discussing the theft of rubies (or XP) from Mytona again via code tweaks then, no, I did not know. It’s one thing to find a loophole in the game as it exists, I.e. TT, sync game, or the Astrolab quirk, it’s another to steal from other players, or use ruby generators. Sorry but that is my grey line. Mytona, I believe possibly puts these other little loopholes in every now and then to entertain those of us who hunt for quirks that everyone can benefit from even if temporarily. I doubt they condone ruby generators and likely shut down the sites as they find them. Whack a mole, though, I guess.
By the way, the summoning/dispelling style of playing is neither feasible nor sustainable ...It is not easy to obtain a substantial quantity of banishing weapons if one plays with limited energy and milks trophies twice a day (max).”
Thank you for this reminder! I need to get better about sending crushers, firefly bowls, etc...I forget because I had the ability to craft them with my excess of clubs, etc..that others cannot. I will be sure to send those out to players 8 know cannot TT.
“I think this may be one of the reasons why some players eternally wish list premium fixers since net gain from combining such collections are only possible if premium fixers= free fixers. “
I WISH some of my players would WL these as I am happy to help. But most do not. I even ask in my username to beginners. Some are catching on. I want them to craft, too, especially for energy, but not be fearful of the WL for premium fixers. It’s a WL!
I am leery of those players who never have a real avatar nor ever connect to a FB account. I might delete them over another player all things being equal if I need to make space for a newer player who needs a jumpstart.
“The issue of sticky charges and the increasing frequency of repeat modes may further affect a player 's ability to obtain varying CIs and therefore limit supplies available to play the game in a self -sufficient manner, especially if the player regularly needs tools to complete puzzles and locations.”
I don’t think I have sticky charges. There used to be some on my trophies and crafting stations but those disappeared a release,or so, ago. I’ve never used a Magisterium yet so that didn’t mess with mine. Mytona Support was unable to restore my charges after the clean install.
“Players who do not tt and have started the game recently will experience perpetual thorny issues that may seem strange from the perspective of old timers and those who had been tting for long. “
Yes, I can appreciate this and hope more newbies report their frustrations before quitting. Sometimes we can help as friends but other problems/issues are in Mytona’s hands. I love this game and while often repetitive I find the new events and Mini Events enough of a change to keep me playing.
I do love my old game but honestly it is painfully slow so I am playing less. But maybe I will get in the mood this week! I don’t over-milk it except for the treasure chests and crafting.
Jp, I’ve asked you before if you want on my game and the offer stands. I can help you with fixers. I cannot help you with bugs. It seems you have worked out enough to be able to keep going and help others with tools in the process. I thought perhaps you had a old game, too. I’m always looking for that unicorn so that I could charge someone or have them charge me. My old game is an isolated island that moves slower than the employees on the Hawaiian Islands 🌴 🌺 for the most part! But like everything about SN for me it is a blessing.
Yes, I can't control the double TYs. I do not believe that double CI gift takes two from the gifter 's inventory, but before I was able to tt gift, I did not wish list CIs. If I were to get double CIs, I would return it to the sender. If a non -wiki friend gifts me a CI that I had decided to wish list, I send back the other four CIs as a rule. Yes, shame on me if I were to take advantage of friends.
I don't know Torabear either but I doubt that stealing from other players was involved. Mytona will remove hackers and thieves as they need to protect their virtual currency. The stats that get displayed when clicking on the avatar reveal a lot.
The current loophole in the game that allows tting and syncing with Facebook will make it possible for one to generate CIs.
Yes, I agree again. I sincerely doubt Torabear was doing what was written about on the other thread or that account would have been disqualified. But as a team approach with others around the globe each playing 4 hours or so very doable. Nothing I could commit to but kudos to them for the team work lol.
I seriously do not have an old game 😄. I somehow did not see your other reply perhaps because we were writing at the same time. Premium fixers used to be an issue but as I have finished my quests, I no longer have to turn in collections that give a few runes in exchange for crafted fixers - those quests come in succession and can throw off the balance of runes, flowers, and flasks.
I don't have to craft too many dragonflies and cottonballs for my personal use as I will only get a small number of quests in each update.
Your old game is probably on an ancient device that you managed to keep alive.
I could always use a friend but I did not want to ask because I am beyond an adoptable level 😂 and you apparently have a waiting list. I try to help out my friends and yes, many need tools, diagrams, and winding keys. The CIs I send out come from playing the game. I try not to create a hole so that I can continue to collect CIs to send out.
I do visit, charge, and tt send access passes.
I, however, do not use Facebook and therefore do not sync with Facebook. Facebook is a security nightmare. Why would you be leery of Players who do not sync with Facebook?
Since I started the game at a different time as a real newbie with an empty inventory, I am starting to understand that drop rate of CIs on your end (or other old timers) would be different due to previously obtained CIs chilling in the inventory. I was able to overcome barriers because I adjusted my way of playing as necessary, but I suppose I could be useful since I am well aware of the new challenges that newbies will have to face and issues that hinder their progress.
Yes, and I am trying to learn these new challenges faced with my baby game...not connected to Tters or wiki gifters. Thus, the occasional play session, and once in awhile help from a friend out on the wire - usually we all have the same WLs: tar, resin, string, safety pins, clothes pins, colored ribbon, and occasionally a CI. Mostly for very early sets. Not once have I seen a tool CI WLed yet. These are other players or bots going slowly but steadily. I’m approaching Level 30 and looking forward to be able to send a garden lantern. None of the friends on this game have ever sent thread. True newbies don’t realize it is not locked because it is buried in a sea of locks. Maybe they will wonder how I send it? And scroll to see...
I will send an invite tonight. Yes, I do want to help 20-50ish level players and do have a few but thus far my recent fishing has resulted in the Dead Sea...all abandoned games. I keep trying....I have a few ex-SS players on hold for next event but not a long waiting list. I am Leary of adding Wiki players since that last thread, though. Regarding FB sync comment it was re players that have the offline avatar always OR never sync. They remain in the shadows as I see it. And in my game if I don’t trust someone for whatever reason I will X them first in favor of a newbie. I have several SN savvy long time friends and they help me when I am feeling the SN blues or fill in sets I need. Placement on any FL should be a good thing, a happy thing, a valued thing. I value the friends I have on my list now and hope they feel the same about me. I value our discussions here as I do players like Dystopian who I may not always see things the same as but deeply respect due to thoughtful responses and logic.
I would appreciate free pass(es). I will take any passes. 😂 I am usually okay on tools/diagrams/winding keys. I mostly play the game to get CIs to gift. Since I do not tt, I do snack often but you may want to give your goods to poorer newbies. For some reason, my needs/wants are different from those of the masses.
How about you? How do you live with so many grey premium rooms?
I don’t play competitively. I roam around the map playing a lot of rooms (for event passes and fun). My goal is simple. Finish the challenge event if I can. I’ll get you passes tomorrow. I was running a Folio and SS earlier.
Have you finished all your quests yet? I was poking around your map, and based on your room rankings and current level, I could tell you were around when Dark Square/Antique Shop/Old Square/Candy World/Veranda, etc. used to be event rooms? 😵😵😵
What kind of collections would be the most useful for you? I only asked about the grey premium rooms due to the sheer number of passes required to play a few rounds. Do you have to combine a lot of CIs for access passes?
Sometimes. Like everything I just keep a min in storage. When the guardian worked for me I used to get more passes but Sally is truly a stinker now. I have relied on Wiki player gifts. Not sure what I’ll do moving forward. I have the least of flower water, scarlet lanterns and potion so those keys I guess I “value” a tiny bit more. Truly any gift is appreciated and shows the friend is out there and helping in whatever way he/she can. By the way, I don’t know what prompted your 6s addition but it seems not necessary now if it were for humor.
Hi 5 Sides, I didn’t have any of the fixers for the lovely sets you sent so put them on my WL. Overnight friends provided enough to complete the collections and I then realised you had sent me the sets to complete an artifact, the lovely gargoyle pendant. How I will enjoy wearing it for the day. Thank you so much my friend. Xx
Wear it and enjoy; it sure is pretty. I cannot speak to whether it is one that works well with a SS but my hope is that it helps still with CIs. If not, the energy and the gems will have to make it valuable.
Couldn’t resist sending you the dragonfly’s and other crafted fixers when I saw your WL pop up. I know you did not intend for friends to send you anything and you were just transferring but you do so much for everyone I could not resist. Just pay them forward if you cannot use them. But it was cheeky and fun sneaking in like that 🤣🤣🤗
That would be so good, I can only send collections that need the high level premium fixers to non wiki friends if they have them in their wish list and then send the fixers they need. A bit frustrating I agree
Hello my 5Sided friend, Thank you so much for the lovely brooch pass sets you sent me. Your generosity is well known and your help for aspiring players is legendary.
It’s so much fun , isn’t it , being able to help other players as well as new players, I always make sure I have some newbies. My baby just hit 42 and is moving slowly up through the levels but I’m so pleased to be able to help him out.
I still gift and visit daily but you may notice my advancement is slowing as I care for a parent with advanced cancer who takes a lot of my time ( time given happily) but is limiting my playing time at present. Using the playing time I have to conquer TB, if I can get it to black I will never play it again 🤣🤪🤪. As a skilled strategist in the corporate world I have no idea why I can’t work this game out. I have a friend who visits occasionally who is excellent and I give her my phone and get her to play a few games for me. She gets them out within the time allowed. Grrrrr (yes, I play on my little phone. Crazy🤪🤪😳).
I’ve been trying to get some newbies but so far all abandoned games. I have 5 under 60 (one is mine one a neighbors kid) but I’d really like 5 more.
Green brooches are so pretty. Most girls like gems :)
