As you play the Seeker's Notes: Mysteries of Darkwood game you will encounter a variety of Monsters that have started to invaded Darkwood Town.

You can Banish these Monsters to collect rewards. To Banish a Monster, you need the correct Banishing item. Some Banishing items can be won for successfully playing games of Hidden Object Locations and Puzzles, but most need to be Crafted.

Unlocking Monsters Edit

When you first open a new game, there are no Monsters unlocked in your game yet. As you work through the game's Quests, you will start to unlock the different Monsters in the game (starting with the Living Shadow when you reach Level 5 and first meet Colonel Hammersmith). By the time you reach Game Level 22 in the game, all remaining Level 3 Monsters will automatically unlock.

Once a Monster is unlocked, you will then be able to interact with it whenever you want by pressing its icon on your map. Once a Monster is Banished, its icon will automatically re-appear elsewhere on the Map.

Each Monster type has 3 different Levels of Monsters, represented by increasing rank of that Monster type (from foot soldier to leader). The higher the Level a Monster, the harder it is to obtain the correct Banishing item for that Monster, however the rewards for Banishing higher Level Monsters are also more valuable than those received by Banishing lower Level Monsters.

Each level of Monster can be recognised by the border around that Monster's icon on your Darkwood Town Map. Level 1 Monsters have the plainest silver borders, that just have 3 simple spikes at the top and bottom of the circular icon. Level 2 Monsters have more decorative silver borders, with more pronounced spike groups at the top and bottom of the circular icon. Level 3 Monsters have the most decorative silver borders, which have the more pronounced spike groups all around the circular icon:

Interacting with Monsters On Your Own Darkwood Town Map Edit

Monster Icons on Map

Monster Icons floating around the Darkwood Town Map. If many Monster icons are close together, you can zoom in to help tap on the right one.

Each Monster has its own small circular icon that floats around the Darkwood Town Map. According to Colonel Hammersmith, the Monsters can be found on the outskirts of the Town, but they are getting bolder and coming closer as time goes on. In terms of your playing board, this means that the Monster Icons are always found on the outside areas of your Darkwood Town Map - split randomly between the far left and the far right of the Map. You do not see Monster Icons in the centre of the Darkwood Town map like Trading Icons or your Friend Icons, but at the edges of the Map on either side, there is some over lap were you will see Monsters, Towns-people and Friend icons next to each other.

To interact with a Monster, you must tap on its icon. This will bring up the Banishing Window for that Monster. You can Banish a Monster as many times as you want, as long as you have the right item to Banish them. Every time you Banish a Monster, their icon will re-appear in a different areas of the Darkwood Town map.

Monsters, Townspeople and Friends all float around the Map, often aggregating into overlapping groups which can make selecting individuals difficult. If you find that a number of floating icons are close together, and you are having difficulties selecting the right one, you can zoom in on the Darkwood Town map using the iPad pinch zoom function (dragging two fingers away from each other on screen).

Banishing werewolf have

Pressing Banish will take the required Banishing Items out of your Inventory and give you the Rewards listed in the 'You can Obtain' box

When you tap on the floating icon the Banishing Window for that Monster will appear. This Window will show you a picture of the Monster and a short description it.

Beneath this will be a picture of the item you need Banish that Monster. Under this picture, you will see how many of the item you need to Banish the Monster once and how many of that item you currently have in your Inventory. Tapping on the image of the Banishing item will bring up an information box for it which will also show you how many you have in your inventory but will also show you where you can find the item in the game.

Under the image of the Banishing item, a 'You can Obtain' box shows what rewards that you will obtain for Banishing the Monster. In the 'You can Obtain' box is images of the rewards. You can tap on these images to bring up an information box for the items, as well as their names. This information box will explain what the item is used for as well as where else (if anywhere) you can get it in the game.

Pressing Banish will reduce the number of that Banishing Item in your inventory by the amount needed to Banish the Monster and you will receive the listed rewards and be brought back to the Darkwood Town map.

Banishing werewolf dont have

If you don't have the Banishing Item, you cannot Banish the Monster. If you tap on the 'Find' button a blue arrow will give you a hint as to where to find the item. If the Banishing item is a first order item, and can be bought in the Store, you will be given the option to buy the item instead. If you tap on Banish, then if the item can be bought you will be offered to buy it, but if the item cannot be bought, then you will be given a blue arrow hint instead.

If you don't have the Banishing item needed to Banish that Monster, then you will not be able to Banish them. If the Banishing item is a first order item - i.e. an item that can be won by playing Locations or puzzles, and can be bought in the shop, then a green 'Buy' button will appear next to the image of the item. This will allow you to purchase the item with Rubies.

Alternatively, a green 'Find' button is under the 'Buy' button. Pressing this will exit the Banishing Window and a blue arrow will appear on the Darkwood Town map pointing to where you can get the item in the game.

If the item is a second order item - i.e. an item that must be won as a reward for Trading with a Towns-person or Banishing another Monster or an item that must be crafted and cannot be bought in the shop - then there will be no 'Buy' button. But there will still be a 'Find' button.

If you do not have the required items to Banish the Monster and you press Banish then you will be offered to buy the item with Rubies (if it is a 1st order item) or the Banish Window will exit and a blue arrow will point to where you can find the item in the game (if it is a 2n order or above item).

Interacting with Monsters While Visiting Friends Edit

When you visit your Friends' maps, the Monsters they have unlocked in their game will also be floating about their maps. You can Banish these Monsters for items even if you have not unlocked that Monster in your game yet. You will receive the reward in your game if you Banish a Friend's Monster.

However, it is important to note that each Banish will count as one of your available charges for that friend for that day. Which means you will be able to charge one less of your Friend's Locations/Puzzles for that visit, and so collect fewer experience points and coins from visiting that friend.

Banishing ItemsEdit

In order to Banish a Monster, you need to have one of the correct Banishing Items in your Inventory. These items may simply be won by winning Hidden Object games or Puzzles or they may need to be Crafted. For particularly difficult Monsters, the items may need to be Crafted using other items that also need to be Crafted. The more difficult it is to get the Banishing item for a particular Monster, the greater the reward for using it to Banish the Monster.

As a organisational system, items in the game are given an 'Order' system (1-10) on this wiki, which gives an indication of the degree of provenance of that item:
