  • MyT have officially jumped the shark with this room.

In the past I have wanted rooms to be a bit more challenging, but this one is a case of "be careful what you wish for".

It is actually *very* hard at times to find tiny, near transparent objects in what is a very large space to scan, with lots of blurry textures to boot.

I think we're gonna need a bigger toolbox!

      Loading editor
    • I'm definitely finding this room more difficult than the other challenge rooms in my relatively short SN experience. Thank goodness I have so many Lightnings saved up--I have a feeling I will be needing them! ๐Ÿ™ƒ

        Loading editor
    • Agree. This one is hard. I'm at Sleuth level and usually by now I'm getting the hang of it. I'm using tools at an embarrassing rateย :(

        Loading editor
    • Yes, yes, yes! Thank you for posting this. I was thinking I needed to adjust my brightness on my computer. So many of the objects, like the sun, are sometimes almost completely transparent. I'm blowing through magnifying glass and purple bombs!

        Loading editor
    • Agreed. Diadem is particularly bad. I'm not enjoying this one. I don't like using up the tools like this, but I need them to figure out where these new things are hidden. I've just reached Level 90, and all I want to do now is play in the Circus. Besides, that Rabbit is actually rather cute, I don't like banishing him!

        Loading editor
    • Can anyone tell me what the Tray looks like? I am having a hellofa time finding this! Please and thank you!

        Loading editor
    • Silvery coloured. Rectangular. Small.ย :( I've found it halfway up the back wall as though it's been hung up on a nail, and tucked between that sofa and the table on the left. They were the hardest places to spot it for me. I play on an iPad and need to have my brightness up for this room.

        Loading editor
    • Circus is fun. Villa not so muchย :/

        Loading editor
    • Yes the Villa is a lil difficult that's for sure .. One challenge I won't be trying for lol

        Loading editor
    • Not enjoying the villa ๐Ÿ˜ก

        Loading editor
    • I do not like the Villa at all! It's too hard to find things, everything's the same color. I'm usually good at finding the objects, but this is ridiculous! Just sayin'...

        Loading editor
    • I'll use the Precious Aigrettes when I get them, but I'm not going to struggle to reach the Avatars this time round. Really unhappy to be using so many tools on this Room.

        Loading editor
    • Plus the list of objects to find seems to change every play, so no chance to become familiar with them.ย

    • The Villa is starting to make my left eye twitch! I avoid the mine too! I think the Mayors house is the easiest, I might just stay there until my eye calms down,

        Loading editor
    • I activated a Golden Chicken yesterday and through (unusually) hard work I just reached Detective level for Villa. Omg!

The learning curve is steep, but I am starting to actually finish a game without having to use a tool. It's becoming tolerable. This one isn't easy, but stick with it. It does get easier...

        Loading editor
    • Wtg, Andii! I'm still at Sleuth, and still getting used to the room. So, have you noticed if hiding places for missing items have become at all predictable? Usually there are only so many variants of a room, but this room seems to me to have more than most. Have you been able to learn where to look for specific items?

        Loading editor
    • Hi Minki,

I'm still learning of course as this room has proven to be tougher than most. Here's what I'm noticing so far:

-Brush is sometimes at the bottom of the couch.

-Peacock Feather is often on the upper left side near the mirror or on a window. Sometimes it's on the trees and super hard to see as it's green on green. Same with the Grapes. It's often in the windows on green trees and hard to see.

-The lower left corner is dark an often hides small dark pieces like the Pipe.

-The Gloves are always hidden on top of something white. Super hard to see. Check the white drape on the mirror, the book on the floor below the couch or drapes on the window on the right side.

-Often times like colors are on top of like. Once the Fork was on the left side of the mirror which made it impossible to find as they are both grey.

-The turned over table in the middle of the room sometimes also hides small pieces.

-the Lion and Angel are usually near the top near the white crown molding. The cane is thin and hard to see and is often in a window frame or near the right side of the couch.

-Don't be afraid to zoom in. My pride wouldn't let me do that initially but eventually I just had to...

-It's starting to get easier, but usually by this point I would no longer be using tools. In some cases instead of hitting the bottle, I'm extending time so I can keep looking and discovering where items are hidden.

I'll add more as I think of it. Hope this helps! ๐Ÿ’

        Loading editor
    • Woweee Andii, this is pure gold! Thanks for taking time to post. Oh, I'm zooming alright!

I can add a few spots where you can sometimes find: Gold bar, bell and goblet - inside other containers like gramophone 'speaker'.

The mushroom sticks out of vase to left of chaise, below mirror.

Tiny cameo is either on front face of box on whatnot RHS, or on drawer face, I think, or a box maybe, to left of the chaise longue.

Scissors on mirror and back of upturned table

But it's all still a bit hit and miss for me.

        Loading editor
    • Completely agree with your notes Minki. Yes, It still feels pretty hit and miss for me too.

Many pieces are tiny and seem to move around a lot more than normal. And then they are on top of something the same color. Sigh! So it's taking time to really learn this room. However, I'm confident that we can do it and finish the challenge. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

        Loading editor
    • I saw comments elsewhere that people don't want to complete the challenge. The fact that it's so hard makes me want to complete it. I'm almost tempted to buy a chest and just plow through it, which I've never done before. I usually like to savor playing the event but this one feels different. If I finish it fast I can then focus on Photo Studio which seems like much more fun to play.

      I don't know. I'm thinking about it...

        Loading editor
    • Well, FWIW, I avoid buying keys, I find I can usually win enough, eventually, but then I play a bit every day, and my energy reserves are better now I am at a higher level.

I'd be more inclined to spend on eyeglasses. And every so often an "attractive offer" for tools really IS attractive, gasp!

To my mind, all the recent changes are calculated to make us spend, spend spend.

I mean, the 'cost' to combine some things is astronomical, SIX dragonflies for a nothing item in return. Now they are selling cotton and dragonflies, but I notice they have NOT added them to the items we can win from playing, which is unfair, IMHO.

Myt is milking this baby for all it's worth!

        Loading editor
    • You are so right on Minki. I would be happy to gift you collections that earn Mag Glasses but then you need 2 or 3 dragonflies to complete.. Andii, I plan on completing the event, even though I don't care for the avatars. I'm finally at a point in the game where I can finish events. Finally got a medal last time, hehe.

        Loading editor
    • Totally! 6 dragonflies for one spyglass reward is NOT worth it ๐Ÿ™„

Minki, youre just a few levels ahead of me and yes it's easier now that we can accumulate more energy between playing sessions.

I buy the clock tool a lot. Those darn puzzles always seem to get me. I get so focused that I forget to hit the spyglass until it's too late...ย :( And yes, sometimes the attractive offers are good.

Agree they are trying to make more $$$. Maybe I'm just exhausted from finishing my mega session with the Golden Chicken. I'm feeling kinda over it right now. Usually this feeling comes much later in the challenge...

I'm in a good position and have plenty of time to finish the challenge through normal play. I probably wont buy the access passes but I'm not entirely ruling it out either at this timeย ;)

        Loading editor
    • OMG!!! ย I thought it was just me! ย That villa is brutal - a real tool sucker! ย I am at detective and once I finish this challenge would be happy to NEVER play here again! ย

I find the mine difficult as well - gotta switch this off my phone to my chromebook...

    • Minki, wish I'd read that about the Cameo ten minutes ago! I used an eyeglass up on it! Up until then it'd always been on the vase or that jewellery box thing on the left.

I keeping getting caught with Lambda and Mercury symbols, but they do often appear down in the dark depths of the bottom right corner. The vinyl record is often lurking down there for me as well.

Andii, I was considering giving up, but I played in there 5 times in a row today and I'm feeling more determined. I often give MyT some money at the last minute, but I'm also determined that it won't happen this time. Oh, and when you complete, please don't change your Avatar. I love the ice dancing one and none of my other friends is using it!ย :)

    • Agreed. Too hard for my aging eyes. Did you guys see where the freaking white angel was hiding? Smallish and tucked in the white hanging drape! I don't do well with white and I think I'm gonna pass on that Quest.-Laz

    • Andi, TamTam and anyone else willing to list hiding places, thank you! No matter how late we Window users get the update I still plan on trying to finish the event. If we can't have the same number of days we can at least benefit from other's experience. Much appreciated.

    • Ok I will do that I'm in detective level and getting better now. I'm catching on to hiding places. Red bow likes the red box on shelf or red fabric on couch. Mercury symbol likes the handle on side of chest.Scissors is three places on the side of the shelf. left side. Behind( half way)drape on mirror. And between the back two windows.

        Loading editor
    • Eyeris, Still no update? That's ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜œ messed up. They should give you all 300 (at least) keys for the Villa just to start you off.

    • I've only had a few turns and it is full of silohuettes and color on color but only have 3 weeks to finish it. I'll try. I was not home most of the day so I don't know what time Windows received the update but at least we can all agonize together.

    • Thank you! I was gone most of the day and then didn't feel well from the heat but I did visit and was happy I was abe to do that. I need to gift and then I'll give the Villa more attention. I'll return and review clues asmany times as needed. I played just to amateur and used one spyglass but there will be many more items to find and more modes from now on. A bit scary but will try.ย

    • Diadem is often at top left of the couch on curve of couch back. Lion is a small white oval and generally top right along the window frame. Doll - try on the couch or above the middle windows. Potion - near the couch legs. Elephant - to right of couch, or top right near window frame. Mushroom - try vase of dead flowers to left of couch. Bow - underside of table or red blanket on couch. Cane - lined up with window frames usually vertical but have seen horizontal near top also. Brush & medallion usually on shelving to right of screen.

        Loading editor
    • SPOIL ALERT As you progress the diadem will jump to under the chair a lot. Ant the lion moves to top of shelving. And white gloves will hide on the white open book on the floor in front of couch. Brush can hide along front of couch frame and on top of picture frame too. The green feather has stayed true to same three spots and same for cane. Cane around windows and at top of ceilings. Feather by mirror, far left window and on shelf to the right of screen.

    • All of these tips are just great!! ย Every item in every location has about an average of five hiding places and even if you've only spotted one for an item so far please go ahead and post as this room seems to be quite hard and there is a limited time to complete for all rewards. As someone who has three weeks only to finish I thank you all very, very much!!! If I find any not listed in my play I will report back also but thank you for the tips!!!!!

    • Tricky spots: mercury symbol is hiding in the glass ceiling, right side and the cameo I found partly under the white drape, lower right of mirror. Also, the bird cage was on the bottom left, blending into the steamer trunk.

        Loading editor
    • And the cameo can also be on the underside of the table, it's turned reddish brown in color. ๐Ÿ˜œ

        Loading editor
    • Eyeris, you can also find the table clock against the steamer trunk, left side. And the horseshoe sometimes hides against the blue pillow.

    • I want to finish the Quests in that Room, then I'm done. I'm just not getting the carrot cakes I need. It's very frustrating.

Today has been spent summoning and dispelling!

    • I don't think I'm going for the avatar, I hate this room

        Loading editor
    • Just completed the challenge. I did spend some money to buy some access passes near the finish because I decided I wanted to get it done. I usually savor playing the challenge but this time I wanted to go back to playing the game and not worrying/dreading playing Villa.

Villa is never going to be my favorite room, but it does get easier. I'm no longer using tools to finish game play. This probably happened around halfway through Detective level. Sometimes I have to zoom in to find the last couple items. You just have to stick with it and stay positive.

Good luck to everyone! I'm rooting for all of you regardless of what your strategy is for playing the Villa challenge ๐Ÿ’

I played it nine times this evening. After getting the SOV for dispelling I ended up with a large bunch of Precious A's. It does get easier when played over and over, but there's no way I'm giving them money (I'll keep telling myself that...) & I only managed two carrot cakes.

Willow you can do it and def don't have to spend the money. Keep using your different tailsmans to maximize your playing experience.

Wawa it's ok if you like Villa. It's grown on me. It's always interesting to hear which rooms people like and dislike. There isn't really a consensus.

    • Wtg Andii and Deb! Yes, Debra O, they do keep changing the hiding places, don't they? You need a big screen to do this room without tools. I'm just shy of getting the final gift, and still doing mental fist pumps if I don't use them. It's too variable to learn and too small to see. Full stop. Shaking fist, poking tongue and stomping foot at Villa. Laughing at Wa, too. ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿจ

    • I didn't make much progress today on that workhorse. I had FM going and I wasn't learning the room so I left it for rooms I could complete quicker. I did quests and finished the mini challenge which was also extremely hard especially getting it a day late. I used my 50% off for 2 hours amulet and really liked that in leveling up some of my newly opened rooms. Back to Villa grind now, yuck. Screenshots will help tremendously though. Thanks so much 5sides.

I was thinking to do some screenshots and then to something like you did, but then realized that I really need to lern and watch the pictures more accuratelly to get the picture done in time. I'll take the time the next week end to get a bit longer. by the way, I ure a two hours amulets (all 4 of them, I craft them first and then put them up all toghether. Mid way, like when there are 45 min left, I take my clock one hour bak, so I can extend the amulets. It works god
